Delete your Tericipe account

Tericipe is developed by Hess WebTech. This page explains how to delete your Tericipe account and everything stored with it, and exactly what is removed and what is kept.

Delete it yourself, in the app

This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.

This cannot be undone. There is no grace period and no way for us to restore a deleted account.

If you no longer have the app installed, or you would rather we did it for you, email info@hesswebtech.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm when it is done.

What is deleted

• Your account and sign-in credentials.
• Your profile — name, email address, and profile photo.
• Every recipe and collection you saved, including their ingredients, steps, and notes.
• Any recipe photos stored in the cloud for your account.
• Every recipe you had shared by link. The public pages are removed and those links stop working for everyone.
• For Tericipe Pro handwriting reading: any scan photo still waiting to be read or deleted, the records of your read requests (including the text read from a card), and your read counts.

All of the above is deleted at the time of the request. We do not retain it for any additional period.

What we keep

• Your Tericipe Pro purchase record, if you bought Tericipe Pro. Google Play is the seller and holds the purchase itself; on our side we keep the Google Play order identifier, when the purchase was made, a one-way (hashed) form of the purchase token, and the internal ID of the account it was last attached to. We keep this so that you can restore Tericipe Pro on a new Tericipe account later — deleting your Tericipe account does not cancel or refund the purchase, because the purchase belongs to your Google Play account. Refunds are handled by Google Play. We never hold your payment details — no card number or billing address ever reaches us.
• Service logs. Our servers' logs of requests from the app (for example, the time, the result, the IP address and your account's internal ID) are not removed by account deletion; they are deleted automatically after a limited period (currently 30 days). They never contain your recipes, the text read from a card, or your photos.
• Records we are required to keep by law, for as long as the law requires.

Data on your own device

Some data lives only on your phone and never reaches our servers — recipe photos on accounts without Tericipe Pro, and the short on-device scan history. Uninstalling the app removes it. You can also clear the scan history at any time from Profile → Scan history.

Android may also have backed up some of the app's settings (such as your sign-in session and a cached copy of your recipes) to your own Google account. Deleting your Tericipe account does not delete copies already in your Google backup; you can manage those in your Google account's backup settings.
